The Home Studio Masterclass is hands-on, which means you won’t just be learning, you’ll be doing. There’ll be homework and Engineer Ron will be listening to your audio and walking you through a 5-point checklist to make sure you’re doing it right.

October 2024 classes begin on Tuesday, October 1st. Can’t make it live? No problem! There will be recordings available.
WEEK 1
Your Home Recording Space, Hardware and Software
Choose the perfect spot in your home for optimal acoustics. Discover budget-friendly sound treatment solutions. Selecting the right microphone, essential peripherals, and even free software
WEEK 2
Home Studio Technique
Learn microphone placement techniques for different styles, from intimate whispers to powerful narrations. Tackling audio issues like plosives and background noise. Editing your audio using Audacity. Guiding you through recording and submitting your first test file.
WEEK 3
Audio File Review
Engineer Ron will review student audio submissions in class, providing real-time editing demonstrations and personalized feedback for improvement. Students will then use this feedback to revise their audio files. In week 4, all students will receive a new script to record and submit for certification.
WEEK 4
Audio Certification
Submitted audio files will be evaluated against the "Home Studio Certification Criteria". Students who meet these criteria will earn official certification. Those who do not meet the requirements will be invited to retake the course free of charge the following month.
